About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Currently trying to get to as many places as possible. From Nepal, living in California. Lived in Iowa for 4 years, then lived in Texas for year and a half. Will see where life takes me from here.
Thinking positively and playing my role for the world to be a better place to live. Hate violence and think that every issue in the world could be solved by dialogues, debates and compromises. Countries should develop intellectuals who can negotiate for peace and not build massive army or nuclear weapon that can wash away our existence.
ABOUT ME
Traveling while studying. Doing everything I can to know much about the world.
Grateful every single day for what I have and how I am sustaining in this world
PHILOSOPHY
Instead of complaining on what I do not have control over, I try to do what is under my control. I pray when I am in desperation. I believe that series of things happen for a reason.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to host and be guest. So far, I have happened to live in places where very few people want to come visit. My door is always open. I like to make friends and get to know the culture first hand. When I am home, I open my door for anyone who is willing to stay. I live in a college town. When I travel, I like to get the authentic flavor my mixing with the locals.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met some amazing people. Great to know that there are people out there who can blindly trust strangers which makes me feel like this community is very safe and everybody want to explore the world here.
Interests
Meeting new people, learning the culture (maybe a little bit of survival language skills as well) and have fun while it lasts.
I drink a lot of coffee and like craft beer (IPA to be precise). Career wise I am your typical analytics guy. I like numbers and technology and that is what I want to start my career in.
I am also the spontaneous kind. I like going places but I do not plan things well in advance. People who know me will tell you that I do not tell what m y plans are. That is because it is yet to be presentable.
Over last three years, I have had a chance to travel to a lot of places and meet a lot of people. It has been an amazing experience which I am grateful everyday.
We can make the world a better place by opening ourselves and sharing love.
Music, Movies, and Books
A lot of them. I love reading. Don't know where to begin. I read The Kite Runner when I was in Middle School, I remember crying at times, I have never had such emotions reading books.
There are lots of movies that I watch. They are for entertainment. I feel that a movie version of book can never beat the richness of the book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bought an international flight tickets four hours before departure, packed in a hurry and ran to the airport, barely made it on time but was the best four days of my life so far. I was in Istanbul and we found a nice deal to go to North Cyprus. We loved it.
Met up with locals in Cape Town, South Africa and partied with them all night. Took a ride from stranger at the middle of night (almost morning) in their cargo van knowing that the crime rate in Cape Town was among the highest in the world.
Sparking conversations to strangers (in planes, coffeeshops, libraries, etc.)
Traveled across Costa Rica from West to East Coast on the bus. It is not a very big country but it takes hours to get from one place to another. Loved our time there.
Teach, Learn, Share
World is an open book. Live, learn and share as much as you can. I am a student and have passion for learning, I am a tutor, and I enjoy sharing what I know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good company, lots of good conversations and a place to sleep. Respectable of your opinions.
My love for coffee. Memories from places I have been and places I want to go.
When I host you, or surf at your place, I will try to make Nepali Dal, Bhat and Tarkari for you (depending on resources).
