About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living in Shanghai doing an internship at an architecture company called Chapman Taylor.

ABOUT ME

After three years of studying I've taken a one-year break from my university studies in Architecture and Engineering.

Hopefully I will get some perspectives on my comfort zoned life in the well organized, safe, structured but sometimes quite boring and predictable, Swedish society. I'm still dreaming about a freelance bon vivant way of life even though some might say that it's a naive and romanticised cliché. Anything that could be seen as a contrast to my life in Sweden is of interest to me right now. After three months in China I still feel like a penguin in a desert but I'm starting to realize that I like that feeling. It's just something about this surrealistic "not sure if I'm awake or dreaming"-thing that I like. Hopefully my upcoming year in Newcastle (Australia) can offer me something similar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can be absolutely stunned by the beauty of nature. Sometimes It's almost a sacral feeling for me. I love to go on different kinds of trekking trips in the mountains close to my hometown in the north of Sweden. I love to see the seasons of nature come and go. I also love how the way of traveling through nature changes with the seasons. By foot during summer/autumn and on skis during winter/spring.

I've been two times in the Swiss and Austrian Alps and that's definitely one of the most beautiful places I've seen, especially during autumn.

Another good memory is from a 3-day trip with my sister in some mountains close to my hometown. It was during the days around New Years Eve and sun was not up for more than a few hours. The temperature dropped down to minus 30 degrees. The nature was completely silent, no sounds of birds, no nothing. Only the repetitive hypnotic sound of the ski poles breaking the thin layer of crust upon the snow. My beard was white from the frost that attached onto it. When we reached above the tree limit it was just complete calm and the absolutely stunning view of snow covered mountains wherever I looked, for mile after mile. The way I see it, this is life quality.
