About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Improve my hometown by making unused places useful; being happy with my daughters and friends; having more flexibility in my spine...

ABOUT ME

I'm Pedro, from Porto, Portugal. I'm the father of two girls, born in 2016 and 2018. I was happily married for 10 years, but I'm a widow since 2021. I'm optimistic and daltonic; I like to taste everything, from grass to leaves and chalk; I had 10 jobs in 10 years, and I have the same for the last 7; I like to bring home some furniture I find in the garbage. I ride a bike daily since 2002, changed to an e-bike to take my kids. I prefer looking at a busy street than to a beautiful natural landscape; people are my biggest interest.

PHILOSOPHY

Looking at the bright side of life. Giving one's best to each other. Trusting and loving people. Believing we can improve the world step by step.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By sharing my couch, visiting people, and telling my friends how good it is to feel at home in a place you have never been before. I've been away from the platform for a long while, to pay my home, and now I'm back to share it again with who wants.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Travelling alone, I spent 2 great weeks in France, sleeping in caravans, gardens and beds; met some of the most original and friendly people in my world.
Travelling with my girlfriend, we made the same in France and Italy.
We hosted several people around 2010, and made good friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a house made of straw bales and earth, that is still upright after some years.
Walked for 5 Km, in the dark, between scared cows and scary crows, to meet the brother of someone I did not know: it was the begining of an amazing week!
Started the business of visiting the arch of a bridge in my hometown.
Hitch-hiked thousands of kilometers.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach portuguese, gardening and tennis playing; also portuguese culture and cooking. Would like to learn whatever you're interested in, as I'm curious and open minded.
