Hello, Nice to meet you! I am Jung Jae Park from Seoul Korea.
After graduating from Korea university, college of Liberal arts, i keep studying Korean history. My speciality is early Chosun dynasty which means 15th~16th century of Korea. I am doing my best for my research!
I think Korea has a lot of cultural heritages, you know korean history is quite long, it is very interesting to introduce them to you guys. I can explain why and how the heritages were found by telling you about Confucianism :) Let's explore and have a intelluctual conversation.
I have lived in Seoul all my life, so i know well about Seoul. I can hang out with you at some amazing places that i know. We dont have only a nerd history thing. We can have fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First, i'd like to share korean history and culture with world friends. It must help us to understand each other. It is super cool to lessen a cultural barrier among people. It will help us eventually.
Second, i'd like to witness others' histories and cultures. Many people are very obsessed with their own culture. These kind of attitudes distract people to experience other cultures. And it finally makes people close minded to others. I would like to get over these attitudes in my mind because people have their own way of living. It must help me discover the truth of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the movie called Paris in midnight by Woody Allen. The movie describe some errors we have about history well. Some people admire the past because it seems like the ideal world. However, according to the movie, it is unreasonable. Whenever you live, you would suffer from a problem that the time period includes. Therefore, It is better for us to enjoy the present as much as we can. What we can learn from history is that the essence of life is the same always.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am proud of myself when i retrospect my travelling around Korea by my bicycle. The distance of this travelling is total 1200km. It took me 12days! Thanks to this trip, i appreciated how beautiful Korea is. It sounds ridiculous but at the time the journey was so exhausting that i wanted to give up sometimes. However if i gave up, it had made me more pained so i didnt put it down. Due to it,i thinkt to myself, even if life is so hard, i should keep going because i will die unless i dont keep going.

I am trained to translate classical chinese into korean. I have done it by reading chinese classic. It must help you cultivate yourself and build your own philosophy. I can share it with you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share korean history and culture with hosts! Also i can share a new view about their socities with hosts! You know sometimes strangers make a breakthrough because nothing restrain them. We can have a good conversation and it help us think differently!
