We are Ulli and Alex and we share this account and our love for traveling. As we were on many trips around the world and got an authentic view of places we visited through the eyes of the people who live there, we would love to give back to the community and share our home and culture.

Alex
I am passionate about a lot of things, but at the same time not many of them seem to keep my interest for very long;) Among the ones that actually do are books, movies, videogames, philosophy, politics and travelling. I like hiking, cycling and generally everything outdoors, while travelling that can also include more kind of one-time-experiences like rock climbing, bungee or skydiving. Things I love but am awful at include playing guitar, going out to dance and cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ulli likes mostly indie, alternative, acoustic, blues, a little bit of experimental music, stoner and classical music.
Alex is a fan of alternative rock, garage rock, stoner rock (pretty much everything with a guitar) and a few selected hip hop and rap artists. He also reads a lot, favorite authors are Hermann Hesse, Juli Zeh, Bernard Cornwell, Martin Suter, Lian Hearn and many more.

We have quite a similar taste in movies, a few of our favorites are high fidelity, into the wild, the salt of the earth, little miss sunshine, the secret life of walter mitty, alice in wonderland, jungle book, Lord of the Rings, Captain Fantastic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ulli was chased by a man with a wooden stake in Ghana, watched Mamma Mia on broadway (unironically), Alex ate a scorpion and had some laughing gas in Bangkok, cut logs with a hippie in the New Zealand Wilderness, we both almost went blind from homemade "vodka" a strange old lady gave us in Budapest, saw about 2 million bats fly out of a giant cave in Borneo and got what we deserved for cheating and taking the bus for most of the Camino de Santiago.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Alex: I'm a teacher and I teach German as a language and history. So if you want to learn German I'm more than happy to teach you, I also have experience in tutoring children.
Ulli: I'm a passionate photographer and for every journey I of course take my camera with me, so if you want to have a photo taken, whether it's a portrait, a nice memory with your loved ones or pets or as a present, I can offer a photoshoot:) I have my own site if you want to take a look at my work: https://www.ullikatphoto.com/fotoprojekte/
