ABOUT ME
The name is Kate, in a break between bachelors and master studies, living each day, and creating a place for herself in this perhaps crazy world. I like couchsurfing because it brings different pockets of the world to me when I can't go out and have adventures myself.
Hobbies include skiing and rock climbing, cartography, environmentalism, running, just hanging out with friends, I could go on and on.
My favorite meal is breakfast.
PHILOSOPHY
Kopf nicht unterlassen.
"nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile" (jerry)
"Love is not what you feel, it's what you do" Madeline Engle. . . make a stranger smile every day. (a note on my fridge!!!)
Don't write your life out in a little box. . . .
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When the time and people work out, I am always willing to help out.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Done some hosting back in 98225 and have surfed a few wonderful couches in Europe. Always a great experience.
Interests
My interests??? This is an exciting little box. But I can't say too much, because that takes the fun out of really getting to know each other.
I like coffee and breakfast in early mornings. I like mountains, beaches, and forests, and adventures that incorporate all three. Skiing, climbing, backpacking, challenges are hobbies of mine. My favorite past time is reading...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently I climbed down a dune to the end of this sea cave. Then I climbed to the end, where the rocks meets the sea. I got to look out at monstrous waves crashing on huge slabs and sculptures of sand stones and an endless ocean. Pretty epic.
I have also done this hike on Kauai, off of the Na Pali Coast trail. This was fucking amazing (there was beaches, mountains, and forests). The last two miles of the hike was scrambling over rocks and crossing streams in this gnarly path that wounded through the jungle. At the end of the hike there was a 100+ foot waterfall that I just stared and stared at. Plus a hairy goat.
