About Me

We are Pascal and Ricarda. A German couple in their early thirties who made a dream come true: we are currently taking a half year break from the hustle and bustle of our jobs to travel (mostly) Southeast Asia!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have lived and travelled in different countries for quite a bit and used couchsurfing a lot about 10 years back (mostly in USA and Australia and for hosting in Germany) and want to give it another shot now to not only stay somewhat isolated in hotel rooms :)

We hope this will give us more insights into the culture and make for memorable moments!

Interests

Pascal:
Record collecting, community radio (I‘ve been hosting radio shows at 3 different community/hobby radio stations), concerts. So yes, I like music!
Oh, and coffee!

Ricarda:
All things DIY (sewing, painting, baking, cooking).
Oh, and food!

  • coffee
  • vegetarian
  • motorcycles
  • movies
  • traveling
  • music

Music, Movies, and Books

Pascal is the music nerd:
Disco, Soul, HipHop, House, Dub, Afrobeat, Cumbia. Currently I am trying to find interesting Southeast Asian music (e.g Thai and Lao Molam).

Ricarda has a long list of Netflix series that she really likes. Cooking, home improvement, drama, comedy… everything in there :)

Currently, we‘re mostly reading travel advice books ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Through couchsurfing we stayed with a Christian community in Florida as well as in a house project for artists in New Orleans. Both of which exposed us to people and ideas we would have probably not been in contact with due to our daily life bubble back home.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are generalists. Jack of all trades, masters of none ;)
But due to our jobs Ricarda knows quite a bit about NGO/developmental aid work and Pascal about software development ( technical, management and product).

We mostly want to learn more about Asian culture and food :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
