About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to explore New Zealand with my partner, Paul! to appreciate and experience culture. to learn and grow as a person - and to pick up concrete animal husbandry, gardening, and home building skills.

ABOUT ME

I love exploring new places. wherever I go, I will just drive towards a body of water to check out what it has to offer: river, lake, ocean. I also love old architecture and heritage houses. I like to share stories, experience the outdoors. Most of the time you can find me talking a walk with a dog near a body of water, or eating some kind of delicious dessert... or hiking, biking, climbing, swimming - ADVENTURES. I'm pretty much open to trying anything that won't hurt me too significantly.

PHILOSOPHY

living life for the good moments... remembering that if I apply myself I will get where I want to be. there's so much more to it, and I'm a little nerdy, so you can go to pasdecouleur.wordpress.com to learn more... but basically, i'm an existentialist nihilist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've stayed on 4 or 5 couches, and hosted 5 or so singles or couples in my Montreal apartment. In Vancouver, my housemates host couchsurfers at our community house, their profile is here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/loverock

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I loved staying in a giant house attached to a Castle in Podebrady, Czech Republic, or with our amazing host in Salzburg, Austria who cooked us two local dishes. Hosting, I enjoyed time most with a couple from France who I rediscovered Montreal with.

Interests

making positive change for animals, sociology, reading, making new recipes, enjoying the sunshine, riding my bike, swimming in a lake, going hiking in the amazing mountains of British Columbia, camping...

Music, Movies, and Books

this would take ages. really. but I'll try (all mixed together in no particular order): modest mouse, the unbearable lightness of being, everything is illuminated, mirah, amelie, daria, cat power, regina spektor, rilo kiley, MGMT, pele, girl interrupted, one week, daydream nation, ... it goes on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I slept in villages in vietnam that were inaccessible to cars... and I have gone over twelve hours without going to the bathroom!

Teach, Learn, Share

I play banjo and am happy to share. I can also show you around Vancouver and tell you about the neighborhoods.

I like to learn about people's philosophies, what they feel their purpose is - getting deeper than "how are you!" is my mission in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach english- even certified in it! and I like to cook food and bake desserts. I can take care of animals and help with DIY projects.
