About Me

To find and share the good things in life.

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from a tiny village in Northern Germany, and have now been living in SoCal for almost 7 years. I'm doing the American Dream thing, bussing tables and doing retail while I'm writing my novels. Ever since I settled in this little paradise I haven't had much time to travel (also part of the Dream I guess), but I'm trying to do it whenever I get the chance. I studied theater and film in Vienna, Austria, and I'm very grateful for the experience. I like traveling on my own most of the time but I love getting to know new people and sharing some beer and stories. I'm intolerance intolerant, but everything else I'm pretty easygoing about.

I'm a summer person. When it's sunny outside I'm willing to do pretty much anything. I love the city as much as the country, the sea as much as the mountains, and unless you're a mosquito or a tick you have nothing to fear. When it's sunny outside (no matter how hot it may be) I'm willing to do anything. I'm not that fond of snow or winter in general, but I absolutely love the rain.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really hope I can start hosting soon. The trouble with the not having my own place is killing me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only great things (and people) happened to me on the road.

Interests

Again reading and writing, going out at night and in the sun, watching movies and sharing experiences with others, talking about the universe and our little place in it. I'm an autodidactic saxophone, harmonica and tin whistle player, and there's a violin and a clarinet in my house that I play once in a while. I'm interested in learning as much as I can. Be it a new language, a new instrument, a new sport or a new outlook. And just as much do I like teaching and passing the small amount of wisdom I earned in my 29 years of life (especially the last two) to anyone who wants to hear about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the stuff that makes me feel. I frequently laugh and/or cry watching movies, reading books or listening to music. Because if not, what's the point? I'm still trying to catch up on everything Stephen King wrote, but that bastard is writing faster than I can read. I used to read and watch movies constantly, but I had to cut back a little because I'm trying to finish my third novel (it's complicated).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It wouldn't be fun if I gave away all my material right at the beginning, would it?

Teach, Learn, Share

I know German, that's for sure. I play the saxophone, and I can teach you the Vulcan salute. I make things like hand sanitizer and lip balm, and I'm pretty good at gardening.
