About Me

What is life if full of care with no time to stop and stare? Hi, I am curious and enjoy travelling, meeting people and making friends from all over the world. Friends often describe me as fun-loving, easy going and laid back with a good sense of humour but also caring, conscious and sensitive. I might be a bit older now but still very youthful and young at heart so not boring at all. After all, age is just a number:) By qualification and practice, I am an attorney but in reality I am a wanderer. I quit my profession in 2019 because it was too dry for my sensitive soul. Now working only part-time in our small family business of Ayurvedic/herbal meds.
I like cities and the vibrancy of city life but I am equally mesmerised by nature, waterscapes, beaches, lakes, rivers. I am definitely not a monument/museum person and enjoy meeting fun and interesting people for conversations and a good laugh over a beer or ice cream. I enjoy travelling slowly for a meaningful immersion in local culture and way of life. I Prefer to meet 1 or 2 friends over a big group. I firmly believe that both sensuality and spirituality are essential to well being and happiness. I am as straight as an arrow but very tolerant, open minded and totally non-judgemental. A Vegetarian and beer lover who enjoys parties occasionally. What more?? Haha you have to meet me to form an opinion.

PHILOSOPHY

Do Good Be Good
Carpe Diem

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is the most amazing way to travel and live life like a local. It is the nicest way of experiencing other cultures based on sharing, trust, friendliness, hospitality and karma of paying it forward. I like to spend time with my guests and introduce them to our culture and cuisine. I have a car and in my free time, I enjoy showing them around and even take them to my mother’s home if they are interested in experiencing real local life of a non-touristy small town in north India. I always offer a neat and clean bed, linen, fresh towels and meals. Guests are free to use my fully loaded kitchen, eat food or drink beers or juices from my fridge. It is always a pleasure to treat them to local Indian dishes and take them to my favourite pubs. Guests always get keys and can come and go as they please without any restrictions except one request that please DO NOT bring any meat to my place as I am a Vegetarian. If I am not able to host due to compelling reasons, I still try to meet up for a walk or beers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting since childhood as my family was very hospitable and generous and visitors were always welcomed in our home with open hearts and arms. I have met some very interesting and lovely people through CS both as a guest and host. Every experience was positive and most of them have become real friends and feel like family. I am very grateful for kindness and generosity of my European hosts who opened up their homes and hearts to me in 2015, 2019, 2021 and 2023

Interests

Of course, I am very passionate about travelling and just love it. I enjoy hearty conversations and laughter with interesting people over a pint or two. I also like music, dance, walking around and getting lost in unfamiliar places. I am a Vegetarian and beer lover. I drink beer for its taste and aroma and not to get drunk.
I am recently becoming increasingly interested in yoga, meditation and massage for relaxation and stress free life. I would love to host or be hosted by people who can initiate me into yoga, meditation, salsa or bachata. Oh and did I already tell you that a good beer is the easiest way to bring a smile on my face:0)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music.
I am not much of a movies or books person and prefer human library that is meeting people and observing their way of living and thinking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic Hindi and tips to get around India. I am proficient in English and speak fluently like a native so you can practice and brush up your English with me.
I would like to know the art of living and loving joyfully. It would be great to learn phrases of your language, salsa, yoga, meditation or playing some musical instrument like Guitar.
I am happy to share my stories and experiences and some inherited knowledge of Ayurvedic medicines and herbs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring good vibes, smiles and some positive energy to your place. I can bring some presents from India if you tell me what you like. It is no problem to help with house chores, washing dishes or taking care of your animals or kids. I am happy to spend time with you and listen to your life story if you have time for it. And it is best to laugh and share experiences around a beer. You know people bond best over beers;)
I am neat and tidy and shower regularly- everyday. I will do my best to keep your place absolutely clean and promise to be a good guest.
