Living in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil!

— — — Update June 2019 — — —

Just got back from 6 months in Thailand. It was more than I could have ever dreamed of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

— — — Update November 2022 — — —

Primary goal is to meet locals!

— — — Update June 2019 — — —

Honestly, I originally started because I was a college student "ballin' on a budget," but after one immensely generous and loving host let me stay at his beautiful home, my eyes were open to the beauty of this community. And as my friends and I traveled through Texas, the CouchSurfing community truly embraced us.

This is a beautiful experience that I would love to contribute to. My travels have gained a new depth to experience, and a new way to share these experiences with the world.

Interests

Guitar, drums (newbie), mountain biking, boating, meditation, acro yoga, rock climbing. All of it. I just love all of it.

Shamelessly digging Joji lately, all that sad-boy music vibe.

Otherwise tastes are mostly unchanged, maybe leaning more towards anything analog/instrumental.

Up until a few years ago, I never paid much attention to lyrics. When I finally did, I was shocked at the depth of music I’d been missing out on. Thanks to the song Yesterday by Atmosphere, my eyes have finally opened.

Some others:

Jack Johnson

The Beatles

Bob Marley

John Butler Trio

Eminem

Atmosphere

Kendrick Lamar

Raça Negra

Falamansa

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Dean Martin

Teebs (look 'em up!)

Tune Yards

Andrew Bird (The music video to Left Handed Kisses is great)

Norah Jones (love love love her voice)

Let's not forget the chill stuff and electronic brain damage:

Blackmill

Blockhead

Chrome Sparks

Com Truise

Flight Facilities

Zeds Dead

Tycho

Ta-ku

Skrillex (yup)

RL Grime (so grimey)

ODESZA

NERO

There's this one song that I always find interesting: BTSTU by Jai Paul.

- - - - Movies - - - -

Slumdog Millionaire

The Notebook (Yeah, yeah)

The Green Mile (Tom Hanks is my man!)

Um... the new Beauty and The Beast with Emma Watson.

Her with Joaquin Phoenix

American Beauty, because Kevin Spacey is beautiful. I won't even start my rant.

Rush Hour is pretty high up there, too.

I love my movies, so I'll stop here while the list is... short.

How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan

Caffeine by Michael Pollan

The most memorable book I’ve read was My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor. I strongly suggest it. She also has a very moving TED talk for brevity and a more engaging explanation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Simply, bringing my family together. It’s been a beautiful experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

— — — Update November 2022 — — —

“All in due time”

“We think we have time until suddenly we dont”

“Hesitation only hastens the grave”

“The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.”

“If you see me talking to myself, I’m having a staff meeting.”

“Consciousness is the way information feels when it’s being processed”

Patience, for all that is good takes time.

Love for the open mind. This life has so much to offer, yet we’re so easily blinded.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My passion for life and love itself. Good laughs and good drinks :D

Sightseeing of local attractions, exploration for new ones... my favorite. Bring a bike if you can!

A comfy home and some bomb hammocks 😁

Good food and loving friends, peace and quiet, whichever you prefer!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Peru, Philippines, Thailand, United States
