About Me
ABOUT ME
My soul is fed by people, their stories, nature, art, culture, the quirky rather than the conventional; and both the old and traditional, and the ultra modern. I value compassion, authenticity, sensitivity, caring, and reverence for life, including our bodies and our inner being. Health, happiness, and the environment are priorities for me. And after many years of four young children, I now very much value order and cleanliness!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that, as importantly as anything else, out thoughts creates our life and our world. Quotes that sum up some of my core philosophies about life, include:
“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” (Shakespeare)
“Live life as if everything is rigged in your favour.” (Rumi)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When my children were younger I taught them the importance of getting an education and travel (and, hopefully, more education and more travel) before they became serious about life. And because I felt that I didn’t do enough of either before marriage, kids, etc., now that my children have grown, I’m picking up on doing as I taught them. I’m currently studying an undergraduate arts degree at university, and have been hosting couch surfers for the past few years, and travelling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Through couch surfing, I’ve met some of the most inspiring, beautiful people I know!!
Interests
I have eclectic tastes and interests. I’m a minimalist. I collect dice, and blue and white china. I dislike plastic, artificial food and fragrances, and anything that is unhealthy or garish. l value time spent with family and friends, reading, movies, walking, yoga, meditation, and ambient, natural, traditional or very contemporary environments. And random everyday objects with a history.
