Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To grow. Like a plant. By meeting people and learning from them.
ABOUT ME
Patrick is a nerdy, dorky old fashioned old man trapped in a lanky young man's body. He likes to have his friends over and cook too much food for them. He is deeply caring, very patient, and a bit passive. Most importantly, he knows how to eat well.
PHILOSOPHY
learn, live
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm starting to host people again, now that we have a place suitable for guests. And I will share my gifts with them and cook for/with them.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Awesome, beautiful people who taught me about wonderful parts of the world that I would never have found otherwise. My favorite (and first surfer) thus far was a person who was walking from Canada to Mexico. Opened my eyes further in a direction that I really liked. Arigatou Jo-dan!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been in love, and I have been loved. I have lived in the densest city in the world and seen the beautiful untouched countryside that the same people work to preserve. I rode my bicycle up a mountain in cold in the small alps in Germany, then ate the best food of my entire life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think the highest task in life is to try to learn to love yourself and others. I try to learn and teach that whenever I can, but it can be difficult.
I love fixing things and I am a fairly good bicycle mechanic. I am good at cleaning things. I like giving massages, but want to get some more formal training and practice. I like teaching others(one of the most enormous, difficult, and rewarding arts).
From my engineering knowledge I can teach you all about metallurgy, plastics, ceramics, composites, natural materials, atoms, chemical bonds, material properties. Stuff, we are all made of stuff, but what is stuff?
