I was born and raised in Sydney but currently live in Byron Bay.
I was introduced to the couchsurfing experience in New York where i came across some of the best times of my young life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the last 8 years i've hosted close to 50 travellers. From germany, france, uk, spain, finland, mexico, new zealand, canada, united states, egypt, italy, belgium, sweden and probably more than I can't remember!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I remember the first couch i surfed like it was yesterday (technically it was a floor mattress but that's irrelevant). Arriving at the Brooklyn Playhouse thinking there'd probably be myself my two friends and a few other surfers only to find (to my amazement) around 20 people surfed in the humble abode of Miranda and Evan every night. Such generosity, such revelry, such warmth it was contagious. We were thrown into a cultural mixing pot with other surfers from the far reaches of the world. Our time was so amazing we changed our original travel plans to stay longer. It changed out whole trip and we ended up couchsurfing for the rest of our travels San Fran and Vancouver and had equally spectacular experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My tastes have changed markedly over time. I used to mostly listen to rock and indie, anything with guitars really but more recently have an appetite for all things hip-hop and electronic. Favorite all time artists include: Radiohead, Silverchair, Modest Mouse, Kanye West, Outkast, Odd Future, The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, Caribou, Nick Cave & Bad Seeds, Arcade Fire, The Presets....

Movies: The Prestige, The Departed, Thumbsucker, Big Fish, Anchorman, The Dark Knight Trilogy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fishing post-spawn Salmon out of a river in Canada using an improvised stick + circular BBQ grill combo. We were later informed by an indigenous Canadian that this was technically illegal and likely dangerous, though we felt no ill effects after eating so i guess it was a victimless crime (the salmon was floating down river to its death anyways).
