Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's a unique way to meet new people and travel like a local. Thanks to Couchsurfing, I've been to places during my trips that I’m sure I wouldn’t have experienced as a regular tourist. It’s amazing how you can meet, host, and be hosted by incredible people from all over the world.
I've surfed many 'couches' and hosted numerous guests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- I hiked the Iztaccihuatl Volcano (5,230 m / 17,160 ft), and it was probably the hardest and most rewarding experience of my life.
- I saw an old man riding a bike with a parrot on his shoulder in Barcelona.
- I organized a few flash mobs, like a BIG FREEZE in Madrid and some NO PANTS SUBWAY RIDES in Mexico City. I froze at Puerta del Sol and inside a Corte Inglés in Madrid.
- I went to a massive Couchsurfing party in Punta de Umbría, Spain, where tons of people from all over the world stayed at the same house—there were tents everywhere and plenty of strawberries.
- All my trips to Europe have been incredible. I love Barcelona, Budapest, and the party scene in Berlin really is unbeatable.
Teach, Learn, Share
Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, so anything you have to share is welcome.
I’m not much of a cook, but if you enjoy cooking, I’d love to learn how to make something from your country.
I can teach you a few words in Spanish—starting with Mexican slang and bad words, of course! I can also share some of my Couchsurfing stories, and if I’m free, we can check out some of the coolest spots in Mexico City, or I can just point you in the right direction.
A few things about Mexico City that not everyone knows:
- It has more museums than any other city in the world and is ranked 4th in number of theaters.
- It’s the only city in the Americas with a real castle in the center.
- It still has the highest number of “vochos” (Volkswagen Beetles) in the world.
- It’s the oldest city in the Americas, founded in 1521, and home to one of the oldest universities, UNAM.
Mexico City was the first federal entity in Mexico to legally recognize same-sex unions.
