About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be able to converse with anyone, anywhere. Esperanto failed, unfortunately, so I need to stay on plenty of chouches, and host enough surfers, that I know enough of each language to be able to connect with everyone.

ABOUT ME

I havn't yet found anyone with whom I don't get along. I think that's because I like to learn.
I'll always hear opinions and views on things without putting anything down. Religion is a good example - I'm completely atheist but I love talking to staunchly religious people because they have such a different view on the world and i'm interested to hear about it.

I study Aerospace Engineering - I'm a very scientific, engineering kind of person. I like straight edges, whole numbers and things that make sense.

Of course that doesn't mean I don't have a personality :D
I like making music and friends, I LOVE food, and hot showers.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is so interesting. So many different natural things to see and so many different kinds of people. Different countries and cultures, but also each individual within a society. I want to learn all about all these things. Only by understanding can you make something better, and that's what I plan to do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, all I'll be doing is mooching off hosts (though i think in couchsurfing there is no such thing as mooching. It's surfing). When I finally get my own place though, I'll be hosting anyone who needs a place to stay, and I'm more than happy to show day-trippers around Melbourne, or teach English.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Twice so far. Once in Argentina and once in the Netherlands. Both wonderfully positive!

Interests

I like dot points. That's why I will list my interests in such a format.

-learning-
- Playing Music (trumpet + piano)
- My Rubik's Cube (record is 51 seconds)
- Speaking foreign languages
- Meeting people and learning about cultures other than my own

-fun...ing?-
- Nintendo. love it. Gameboy, Wii, DS, 64, love it.
- Pubs. I like to think of myself as an extravert without any help, but pubs (perhaps it's the atmosphere, perhaps it's the beer) really help me express my self and get to know someone.
- Doing stuff you can't usually do - like hiking on glaciers, skiing, seeing exotic animals, and such.

- and of course traveling :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Done: Voulunteered putting together, then handing out aid packages just outside Concepcion, Chile after the 2010 Earthquake, which measured 8.0 on the Richter scale.

Seen: The vast damage caused by the earthquake, and subsequently, the amazing way Chile pulled together and helped each other. There were actually too many voulunteers around the country. The only hold back was getting materials to the voulunteers so the could build stuff.
