About Me
Hi! I'm Patricia, an undergraduate student from Montreal, Canada, currently studying in Political Science with a keen interest in International Relation (IR) theories. I will be graduating this winter, and I'm looking forward to enjoy the months between my graduation and my master studies to begin to travel and explore more of the world.
I'm very curious about everything! I'm a free thinker, and I love to learn from people. I love sarcasm, but it's never harsh! I enjoy to get to exchange about anything really and to have a good laugh.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on Couchsurfing since my 4 months stay in Europe back in 2013. It seems like such a long time ago!!! Since then, I haven't had the chance to travel a lot, since I started my undergraduate studies and couldn't afford to travel around the world (money wise and time wise).
But I love couchsurfing because it gives you the opportunity to travel with local people, in the local places that aren't known by tourists, weither it'd be because it is not a "historic" spot or simply because it is only special to the specific local who is making you visit his or her place. I believe there is a difference between "going on vacation" and "traveling". Couchsurfing is making traveling easier, but it stays true to what travel is about, and it is about learning, exploring, taking risks and being open to differences.
Interests
I am really interest in political litterature (I am currently very inclined to read more about the pratical turn of IR, inspired by the work of Bourdieu), philosophy (mostly from l'École de Frankfurt) and quite frankly anything from which I can learn and have a new understanding of the world (wheither it be art history, cinema, music, etc.)
But on a day-to-day basis, I love to have a coffee in the morning on a café's terasse, I enjoy walking around for no other reason than to enjoy the aesthetic of a place, I like to know what's in fashion (clothing wise and cultural wise), and I'm always willing to grab a beer outside on nice summer evening.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music wise, I really do listen to a loooooot of different styles, but I would say that jazz, R&B-soul and alternative music is my go-to playlist.
My favorite movies are The Life of Pi (for it's take on spirituality)(don't read the book though; it does not compare to the movie)(or do, then we could talk about it for hours while drinking that beer)
... ok so The Life of Pi, A Dinner With Andre, Casablanca, Slumdog Millionaire. But this list is absolutely not exhaustive and can changes according to my mood.
I won't try to tell you what my favorite book is, I don't know and I like it that way. But if you want to talk about books you've read, your favorite one or that one you hated the most but understand why it's a must-read, I am completely willing to !
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to an humanitarian trip to Nicaragua 3 years ago and it definitely changed my life.
