About Me

I’m just a guy who loves traveling and meeting new cultures through people, food and experiences. Living abroad for most of my adult life has taught me many lessons and expand my perspective on life, I am a proud Mexican and love sharing about my culture yet simultaneously I feel more and more a citizen of the world rather than just my nationality as my sole identity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found CS when I started this journey away from home, I’ve met very kind souls in this community and feel fond of the whole concept. Travel, meet, host, share, create friendships…

Interests

I enjoy sports and outside activities, lately I've focused more on traveling and studying, I am very interested in meeting people from all over the world and share what makes us different and so similar at the same time. I like to walk in the city, eat traditional meals and learn about the history of each place

Music, Movies, and Books

It’s hard to name a genre I dislike as I think I like a wide variety of music, perhaps my favorite are: Progressive house, Minimal techno, alternative pop

Almost every movie from these guys is in my top; Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino. Actors who I like to follow are: Ryan Gosling, Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Jessica Chastain, Jake Gyllenhaal, Javier Bardem,

Novels are my favorite books, authors like Garcia Marquez and Mario Benedetti are my inspiration. A book that changed my life is "The Greatest Salesman In the World" by Og Mandino.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the ones I can think of now:

-Facetiming my parents while riding a camel in the Moroccan dessert was a very meaningful moment in my life.

-Cycling over 220km in a single day was a true surprise of my physical limits.

-Having a near death experience while traveling in the south of France had a great impact on how I live my life and appreciate it.

If you would like me to host you please write "sombrero" in your request so I know you read my profile :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Everything, Anything, Something?

I am an open book and always like to share what I know and learn from the much more I don't. In my home almost everything is available to use/eat, just ask for consideration in return

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sometimes it’s possible to explore the city together, other times we might have a different agenda and that’s cool too. For me even to have a short meaningful conversation is enough. Sharing a meal or a drink, meeting your friends/ family is a privilege for me and the best I can share is my time and positive attitude, stories and just overall to be open for new experiences.
