Hello!

My name is Patrick. I love to play music and surf! Those are my two favorite things to do, but I enjoy all sorts of activities as well. I currently rehearse with a band in Oakland, California, USA. We rehearse most week nights and perform about two times a month in San Francisco and Oakland bars. We have are own style and you can hear our music at www.theriotprofessor.bandcamp.com. I also do solo side projects on occasion. I also work for a party company doing event setup for weddings and parties around the bay area. Anways, I am getting really excited to travel for a few months and see some different parts of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am traveling to Indonesia from (at least) january-may 2015 to teach english, work in a hostel, and do a bunch of exploring! My trip isn't fully planned out, so I'm pprrreeeettttyyy sure I will be needed to surf some couches.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really into Kurt Vile right now. I also love classic 60's and 70's rock: Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin. Tom Waits is a big inspiration to me. I pretty much like all music; hip hop, reggae, classical, folk, jazz, electronic, country, you name it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done three bicycle treks; one week through Canada, and two different two treks through Germany.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach music on many instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Didjeridoo, Ukulele. I am also physically fit and like to work hard and play hard. If you need me to move couches and furniture, help around with handiwork, or do creative art projects, I am happy to help out.
