I am a 19 year old guy, currently living in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a mountain resort town in Bavaria, Germany, near Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze. I finished secondary school (German Gymnasium) with my A-levels in 2015 and took a gap year afterwards. I'be been working as a pizza delivery guy for an Italian restaurant for 10 months to be able to do a 3-month trip across Canada from May 2016 on together with my friend Sophia, who I went to school with.
In the last months, I also gained some experience in the field of engineering by doing internships, because I am planning to study mechanical engineering in Munich starting in October 2016. I already did two months of internship in two different companies.
In my free time I like doing sports, especially mountain biking in summer and skiing in winter since these sports are great to do here in the mountains. I also like swimming and playing tennis, but unfortunately I discontinued playing tennis in club in 2014. Apart from that I also like reading books, drawing and meeting my friends. My favourite sports to watch are soccer, hockey and tennis.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To me, couchsurfing is a very good possibility to meet locals, that can tell you a lot about their city/area and maybe even show you around a bit. It is also pretty interesting to share the travel experiences you had so far with the hosts. And as well, couchsurfing of couse a good way to see as much as possible without having to spend a big part of your money just for accommodation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly listen to Rock, House and Hip-Hop, but I pretty much like any kind of music when it's live.
When it comes to music and films, I like action and thrillers. Unfortunately I'm not reading so many books anymore, I'm just a rather slow reader and so don't have enough time to read that many books.
I'm going to movie theatres about once a month.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching and leaning experiences in subjects or interests you have in common with hosts/guests can be a huge enrichment. I, for example really love to talk about sports and cars.
If the host is a good cook, I'd really like to learn to cook one or two special meals he/she can do best!
If there is a host willing to learn something I can teach, I will be more than happy to do so, helping learning German as well, if you are currently doing that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think one of the best things about couchsurfing is to share the travel experiences you've had so far and to get and give some advice. Of course it's very nice to bring some food or cook for the host to show your appreciation.
