About Me

Hey there profile-visitor!

I'm a curious guy from southern Germany striving to extend my horizons, to pursue strange ideas, to find bliss in the unforeseen, and above all to just have a mostly good time during this odd thing that is life.

After finishing my studies in Freiburg in 2021, I took some time off to follow my passions and to stroll around Europe, mostly on my bike. Now, since October 2022 I'm living in Hamburg starting a new chapter in life.

Looking forward to meet you ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To share, to learn, to experience.

Interests

I love to do all kinds of sports, preferably outdoors, mostly running, different kinds of cycling and ball sports. I've been into juggling quite intensively for some years and recently started practicing numerous sports that involve a board.

Indoors, I'm mostly sleeping, reading, listening to music, meditating or wasting time watching memes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of music, across genres, with tendential preferences to indie rockish material, hip-hop, and a lot of other weird stuff that crosses my ears ;)
If I had to name a favorite band, there's no way around The Strokes.

Also, I'm an avid reader; mostly reading novels, rarely biographies. Some of my favorite authors are T.C. Boyle, Stefan Zweig, Christian Kracht, Houellebecq, Proust, Hesse, García-Márquez.
Favorite-wise, for me there's nothing that compares to 'In Search of Lost Time'. In non-fiction I'd probably pick 'Barbarian days' by William Finnegan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

7 Months of solo bike touring around Europe instead of getting a job in 2021.

Also did some cool long-distance hikes in the last years; my favorite trips include the Acores, Scotland and Corsica (well, seems like I have a thing for islands..)

Additionally, I enjoyed experiencing the plasticity of my own personality and passions, watching things and people come and go, and discovering where having dreams and believing in them can take you, if you don't give up too easily! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy open personal conversations, respectful but direct communication, and intellectual exchange with others a lot. Of course I'd like to share stories, opinions, worldviews, etc.

If you insist, I might also contribute one or the other joke or ironic remark..

If I'm your guest, I'm open to provide help in the house wherever it's needed as well - just let me know :)

Other than that, please just be nice (and read my profile including the hosting section before writing a request (: )
