Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I plan on being in Europe from July to September, Vietnam from September to November, then I'm heading to New Zealand to hike Te Araroa. I'd like to get a good deal of traveling done before I'm tied down by a career. This seems like a great way to meet some great local people.

I'm a big movie buff and I listen to a lot of music, so I definitely won't be able to list enough but I'll give it a try.

Movies:
Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese are my favorite film makers. Some of favorite movies are The Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, City of God, Oldboy, Forrest Gump, Braveheart, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Zoolander, Spirited Away (big Miyazaki fan), any Star Wars film (also a Star Trek fan), and Goodfellas. I also think Daniel Day-Lewis is the greatest actor on the face of the Earth.

Music:
I'd say Beck is probably my favorite musician. Big fan of him. Some of my other favorites are The Shins, Gorillaz, obviously The Beatles, Delta Spirit, Jack White, Jack Johnson, The Rolling Stones, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Modest Mouse, David Bowie, Andrew Bird, Wilco, Billy Joel, Buddy Holly, Robert Johnson, Dave Matthews Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Talking Heads, The Doors, The Flaming Lips, Led Zepppelin, Portugal. The Man, Bruce Springstein, anything produced by Danger Mouse, MF Doom... I'm going to stop there. I'm always looking for new music, so I'd love to talk about and exchange music any time.
