Über mich
I try to live by the words that saved Andy Dufresne: "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'."
I'm outdoorsy, but seldom turn down a chance to check out a new museum. I tell lots of stories and love meeting new people and going to new places.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
"The world is a book; those who do not travel only read the first page." --St. Augustine
I love traveling and learning and that is done best from locals and having fun
I'm a loyal guy who is willing to help out friends when they are in town, but also helping out strangers on their way through. I love traveling and being the guide (I've had a few jobs in the outdoor industry doing that) and want people to have the best experience where ever they go, and I also would like that same courtesy in return.
I've had good vacations and I've had a few crappy ones. If there's anything I can do to help someone enjoy their trip a little bit more, then that makes me happy.
Interessen
I love to ski, backpack, rappel, hike, bike, watch hockey, canoe, watch funny movies, and sleep in. I feel just as comfortable alone on a mountain as I do in a crowded bar at night.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I slipped Jurassic Park quotes into all of my exams my last year of college, because why not?
My taste in music is all over the place: stoner rock one minute and then Motown right after that.
My interest in books is mostly non-fiction. Some amazing ones that I've read lately were "K Blows Top" about Khrushchev 's journey around the US (I guess that's appropriate for CS!) and "How to Hide an Empire."
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I was a Zamboni driver for three years.
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I'm really good at teaching people how to recreate safely outdoors and why it's important for us to go outside.
I guess getting out there and seeing amazing views and doing really fun stuff (rappelling over a waterfall is a blast) is something that just makes people happy and smile. To me that's worth it.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I'm a fun person that loves to laugh. I love stories and shenanigans. Every person that I meet has something that they can teach me--especially if they are from a different culture or speaks a different language. There's no reason why everyone you meet can't be a teacher, even if it is just for a day or two.
