I guess you could say I have intense desires to explore all that is our world. As of late I am realizing that all of my resources should (and will be) funneled towards this goal.
My passions are visual stimulation, that is to say I am absorbed entirely in the beauty of the natural world, while still being able to appreciate and enjoy the rigorous hive-mind of the city.
I love to kayak & hike regularly, read & write, share my experiences with others via photography and written review, and to travel as much and as often as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After being referred to Couchsurfing by a friend, I realized I was a bit silly for always WANTING a site like this to exist, but never having the wherewithal to explore these kinds of options and find them. (Head in the sand..Ha!)
Being on a tight budget often, yet still burgeoning to explore, being able to spend time with locals around the world as I immerse myself in their cultures and customs is about as authentic and down-to-Earth as I can imagine.
I do not seek the tourism. I do not seek the fanny-pack-Hawaiian shirt profile.
I desire to blend and absorb, to taste the culture as thoroughly and RESPECTFULLY as possible.
I pack light, and believe in leaving things better than I found them (humbly)
This year (2016) will be my first foray into foreign countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have been enjoying minimal techno lately, but enjoy most EDM, Jazz, Acoustic instrument music

I am on a short-term B-movie binge (for shits & giggles), but usually enjoy documentaries about nature & conservation, consciousness, and informative pieces designed to awaken the viewer to new perspectives and understandings
Again, as with music tastes, I cannot easily or quickly describe my eclectic taste.

The last book I read cover to cover was The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, and currently I am working through another book of his, A New Earth. Also a few other novels I was given recently (The Way of the Shaman ((author escapes me))

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Beginning to undergo a massive life transition, from passive to active, where I am disassembling my person, locating the damage, repairing, and reassembling myself, is easily the most amazing thing I feel I have ever done. Traveling thus far, time with friends and family, education, and most other aspects of life seem to pale in comparison to self-realization, and coming to terms with who you are and what your ability to offer the world is.
It has been daunting, and continues to be. This is a joy I find in the challenge. Although the trail may be hard, steep, and unpredictable, the path of life is already beautiful if you take the time to breathe and enjoy it.
Learning to breathe and enjoy the pleasure of an even pace have been the most zen revelations I have had of late.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about computer networking, electronic devices (phones, computers, etc.) gardening, simple hydroponics, food preparation and storing technique, nutritional balancing and dietary modification (non-fad-diet based)

I seek to learn native language, culture, cuisine style, ingredients
I seek to learn the ways of all people

I seek to share my love of life, my big heart, and wide smile
I seek to share my stories, my triumphs, and my energy (however it needs to be best utilized)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook many styles and varieties of cuisine, clean, help with most any tasks
I can do landscaping work, yard work, etc.
