Hi! My name is Patrick. I'm from Minnesota and but currently living in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. My wife and I came to Puero Rico a few years ago in search of adventure and a new culture and we love it so far. We work from home and have a rescue dog named Charlie, she is a Golden Retriever who is very kind and loves being around people. We are active people and enjoy being outdoors. I enjoy surfing, hiking, camping, golfing, mountain biking, and socializing with others.

Although it took some time to get committed, I am currently studying Spanish so I can better communicate with the local population and assist with further travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing primarily to establish worldly connections, in particular, with people in areas of the world that would be of an interest to my wife and I. We would like to develop new friendships with a variety of people around the world, increase our own cultural diversity, and open the door to the possibility to stay with those we host in their home town throughout our travels as an exchange in services.

My wife and I currently live in a three bedroom home, two spare bedrooms with queen beds in a safe and comfortable neighborhood in Aguadilla, PR. It is conveniently located near all the popular beaches in Aguadilla and Isabela (multiple beach access points within a 5 minute drive), restaurants, bars, etc. This part of the island provides great opportunities to surf (a few beginner surf spots but mainly moderate to advance), snorkeling and scuba diving, deep sea fishing, hiking, golfing and many other fun activites.

****Highly recommended**** If you plan to travel and stay on this side of the island, renting a vehicle is a must. There are very few forms of public transportation and those that exist are unreliable and costly. Although, this year Uber has become available and does provide an option for transportation. If you want to have the best experience in West PR..... rent a car. Prices generally range between 20-40$/day depending on the time of year. Holidays will be more expensive.
