About Me

After finishing my degree I didn’t feel like hating my days becoming an accountant so I decided to take a gap year to work in China as an English teacher. Life here is easy and well paid.

I’m currently on a small Europe trip. So far I’ve done the whole of the UK and lived in the North of Italy. I’ll be travelling through France then moving to Spain for two months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people.

The most important lesson I have learnt from Couch Surfing is to meet new people at every opportunity. It makes any situation just that little bit more memorable and usually sets you up in the future for another adventure from word of mouth or even meeting the person again!

Interests

I've always tried hobbies that are cheap, fun and easy to get friends involved with. I’ve always become bored with activities that have a lack of balance between competitiveness, fun and involvement.

My current favourites:
Easy to learn board games that still have deep strategy but are balanced with small amounts of luck involved. E.g: mahjong, Rummyking, UNO.
Sports: Rock climbing, Cycling, Golf, Hiking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running of the bulls 2016. It's quite a story about nearly losing my life and learning about the difference between stupidity and risk taking. No regrets, but I’m definitely not doing it again.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to cook a steak to restaurant quality. My go to dishes: stir fry, 100% homemade pasta+ sauce (I’m no Italian though), good ol Aussie Stew!
How to fix every aspect of a bicycle (I love cycling). How to crochet or hand knit a thick wool blanket.

Please teach me some new languages or even travel tips! It might help me in the future if I travel to your country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know how to cook three dishes pretty well:
1. Spaghetti bologna (Vegetarian) Chinese beef is always of questionable quality and hygiene standards.
2. Med rare scotch fillet with roasted vegetables. (I’ll substitute the beef for chicken when in China).
3. Slow roasted sweet potato chips.
