About Me

Hey Hey Surfers! I'm Patrick and was born and raised in Bremen, Germany. I finished my apprenticeship and became an international freight forwarder in 2012. Also I successfully awarded an advanced education in "traffic and logistics" in 2012. Afterwards I gained a couple of years of work experience in Germany while I studied Business Administration beside work on the weekends. I graduated in 2015. In 2016-2017 I attended a special trainee program, so I have traveled around the globe for two years. My German based company has send me more or less every 90 days to a different office across the world. 2018 I was on a working holiday in New Zealand and now in 2019 have my working holiday in Australia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people, get to know to places I visit like a local and share their life and cultures and to make friends everywhere I go!

The idea of CS is awesome! It's all about sharing! Also it's a great way to meet and become friends with people from all over the world. I am a host, because I want to contribute to the community. I like meeting new people and I personally also prefer staying with locals who genuinely know their city than a hotel with brochures of recommendations. I love interaction and sharing/ hearing different kinds of stories so mostly on here to get to know and help other people, hear their stories and build new friendships.

One simple act of caring, creates an endless riddle.

Interests

Everything outdoorsy or active:
Kayaking, camping, climbing, hiking, biking, swimming, dancing, bowling, bouldering, sports etc.
I like to have adventures and feel alive. All that counts are memories and happiness to share with others. Happiness is only true, when you share it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have seen a lot of movies in my life, but this recently changed when I began to travel. I enjoy movies and especially series, but I have to say I do not miss it that much. I like many different types of movies and there is no favourite movie or genre, but I memorize such movies: Forest Gump, The Storm, The Green Mile, The Book of Eli, Freedom Writers, Cast Away, Bruce almighty, Into the wild, Das Leben ist schoen, Lord of the Ring and many many more. Further I have seen series such as: The Walking Dead, Prison Break, Dragonball, Supernatural, Marco Polo, Blag Flag, Scrubs, How I met your mother, King of Queens, Simpsons, The Game of Thrones etc.
When it comes to music its basically the same. I just enjoy music I like and I can even enjoy music I usually do not hear. There is no point in being down just because the music does not fit 100% to you. Just take the moment and be happy.
I do not want to say this, but I have not read a lot of books. I really wish I would and enjoy reading, but I tend to fall asleep when reading :-) Beside all that study books I have read: The Lord of the Ring Trilogy, James Bond Goldeneye, Fatelessness, Reinheit, die Soldaten, 1984, Brave New World, Shakespeare: King Lear, Shakespeare: Mac Beth, most parts of the Bible and a few others I do not remember

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Speak about happiness with an elderly man in a remote village in Papua New Guinea

Teach, Learn, Share

Recently I have traveled places to families struggle hard to survive, they have barely anything to none but they still manage to strive and make it work every day as long as they have each other. This inspires me.

Coworkers and bosses make work either hell or heaven. Friends turn a simple road trip into an adventure. Family turns Christmas into a celebration. Partner turn a house into a home.

People are the most important in life and they make the difference.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A conversation, culture, energy, feelings, time.
I am not a professional cook, but I can prepare a meal, if needed. Recently I learned how to prepare some Pakistani food.
