About Me

I'm a college grad from Michigan State and currently work in the Risk Management and Insurance industry in the US. I'm a huge travel addict and love to get out and visit new places every change I get. Unfortunately, with the US's employer vacation policy, I typically only get about 3 weeks a year to give in to this habit...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After several trips to multiple states, countries, and continents, I've discovered that my favorite part about making the trip is meeting local people and learning about the local habits, customs, and hot-spots of that area.

I think the best way to better experience these areas of interest is to get connected with a local early-on, which is what I'm hoping CouchSurfing can help me accomplish!

Interests

When I'm out traveling the world, my only goal is to experience something new and different. In that respect, I'm open to basically anything and everything!

I love learning about new places, seeing new local traditions, meeting new people, travel groups, local customs, etc...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much of a reader, but am a big fan of rock, alternative, blues, reggae, electronic, classical, and pretty much anything in between.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In November of this year (2017), I booked a 2 week solo-backpacking trip to Thailand and Japan. Met a ton of amazing people, saw sites that I thought I'd only see in movies, hikes beautiful trails, and ate some real crazy food.

As someone who was never really able to travel or vacation much growing up, this was absolutely an amazing feat and an experience I'll be looking to add on to soon.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to do all three!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to share experiences and stories from my past travel experiences, and fun things to do or see in the States. One of the things I've been getting into is what you'd call "Travel Hacking." Basically, just reading up on all the different methods to earning frequent flyer miles with minimal effort. Happy to share what I know!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Jamaica, Japan, Switzerland, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
