About Me

I've lived 9y in the damp dirty port town where extremes of dignity and degeneracy are daily met. Enough's been written about her that I won't try, but worth visiting The Crescent, and worth remembering your visit (ie a sober visit is rewarded). I'm finishing medical training, but have broad interests in language, oral history/journalism, agriculture, music/art, etc. I especially like hiking, biking, overland adventure, and exploring the rural regions, farms, national parks.

I've traveled and had chance to live in several countries, and more than the architecture, countryside, satisfying work, etc, it's the encounters and friendships of course that leave us marked. Always eager to share across a table, over a beer, attempting with language, or exploring the city. You'll be welcome in New Orleans.

**Welcome to curious, thoughtful visitors. I keep very early morning hours; if you're coming to New Orleans to party, enjoy, but please consider another host.**

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to this site, but have hosted lots of visitors through New Orleans, friends and tourists. Why surf? Same reason we're all here-- to meet and share, develop enduring friendships, and learn from others' perspectives. To remind each other it's our leaders who are crooks (and fools, most recently), not the people!
