Overview
About Me
Based out of Winnipeg, Mb, Portrait of Leaders is an alternative rock band offering a unique and refreshing sound that reflects a wide variety of musical influences. We are slated to record our first full length in April 2016. We are currently independent, but we are pursuing label support.
Having met in high school through word of mouth, Sam Gardner (lead vocals/guitar) and Bo Neufeld quickly found their niche in the song writing community and began networking to form their first band in 2009. With lengthy practices and on going writing sessions the two set out to record "Ain't my Night", their debut EP at Bedside Studios in 2011. Attracting different eyes and ears throughout the city and having a sound that reached a wide audience, the boys quickly gained momentum and felt the need to branch out with a new line up. Jordan Joseph (drummer) quickly came on board after a brief meeting during a gig. Lastly after a successful audition, Patrick Thomas brought a new style to the music, and Portrait of Leaders was born.
With everybody coming from a variety of musical backgrounds; Rock, Punk, Metal, Jazz, Pop. Our vast musicianship comes together as a nice cohesive orgy of fresh sounds. We also have tasty guitar leads, and solos that send listeners on a hair standing Pegasus ride. Bass grooves that put Seinfeld in the dirt, and vocals that can make angels look like sinners.
We are currently fundraising for our upcoming album though mediums such as Pledge Music, Merchandise sales, and gigs. We are going to follow up our album with a coast to coast tour of canada. you can find all our contact information in the link below.
