Thanks for checking out my profile! There are so many wonderfull people on this platform. For myself, i am a Dutchman, living with my partner in Smaland, Sweden, near the village of Vimmerby ( about 10 km).

Born in Netherlands, and have lived there till 2011. In need of change of living from city life to a more relaxed life style we decided to move to Sweden. As many other country men we were attracted by clean air, clean water, green surroundings and affordable housing and a fairly large, 1 acre/hectare garden.

We run a small company selling electronic parts used in automation projects (exhibitions, advertisements, farming etc.). Also we install solar PV systems and advice people on a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During 20 years i worked for a University in the Netherlands and was involved in development programs at different universities in Tanzania, South-Africa, Suriname, India and Indonesia. It was wonderfull to work with many different people from other cultures. Also i loved to travel around these countries and sometimes stayed at friend's homes in these countries.

Interests

I am interested in helping people to use less fossil energy and switch to free and natural resources. At my house there is a 5,000 Watt Solar PV system, battery systems and different inverters (both self built as commercial available systems).

The heating system runs on wood pellets, these are waste byproducts from the paper production industry. In the summer Solar PV is used to heat a small electrical boiler.
