About Me

Hello,
I am Patrick,
an enthusiastic athlete residing in Linz, Upper Austria. This year, I founded the project "PG-off the map."

Ever since I was a child, Hollywood movies and documentaries about the vast world have fascinated me. Several significant events pushed me to embark on this journey. The adventurers of the world inspired me to live in the present. Taking the next step, I am beginning my expedition in Asia, specifically in Kathmandu, the Valley of a Thousand Gods.

To immerse myself in the surroundings and have greater flexibility, I have chosen the bicycle as my means of transportation. My bike tour will lead me through valleys, rivers, rural villages, and impressive temples. I'll travel through Nepal, briefly return to India, then continue to Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and, if all goes well, Papua New Guinea. My main goal is to connect with people and explore diverse cultures.

The journey doesn't end with the bike tour. I plan to seek out "Blue Zones," regions where people live exceptionally long lives. I believe their grounded and contented approach to life contributes to their longevity. I want to research and validate my assumptions about this. Additionally, I aim to show those who may only need money and perspective for happiness, so that everyone can understand where they can genuinely make a difference.

This is my project "PG-off the map."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because it offers a unique opportunity to connect with people from around the world. As an avid traveler, I believe in the power of cultural exchange and making meaningful connections with others.

Couchsurfing allows me to explore new destinations while staying with local hosts who can provide authentic insights into their culture and way of life. It goes beyond just finding a place to stay; it's about experiencing a destination through the eyes of those who call it home.

Moreover, Couchsurfing fosters a sense of community and mutual trust. It's incredible to see how strangers can come together to share stories, experiences, and even meals, creating lasting friendships that span continents.

Being part of Couchsurfing aligns with my passion for adventure and my desire to break down barriers between cultures. It's not just a platform for accommodation; it's a gateway to meaningful connections and a deeper understanding of our diverse world.

In summary, I am on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of shared experiences and the magic of connecting with people from different walks of life. It's a beautiful way to enrich my travels and create memories that will last a lifetime.
