ABOUT ME

I just got my degree, and after this summer will be working in Austin, Texas, USA. So this is my last summer as a free man and I want to spend it doing something awesome. I plan on backpacking through southeast Asia, having as much fun as I can. Generally, I travel in a relaxed and spontaneous way rather than planning every detail beforehand.

I haven't yet participated in couchsurfing. I have high hopes though!

Interests

Snowboarding, drinking with friends, going to rock concerts, chilling at barbeques, and obviously traveling and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I'm reading "John Dies at the End", a comedy-horror novel. It's awesome. For music I dig bands like Jet, the Black Keys, Muse, and the White Stripes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm probably not as experienced or well traveled as the average couchsurfer, but while in Athens myself and a group of friends started on a walk. One stray dog began following us, then another, until eventually they outnumbered our group. Then, any time a homeless guy or someone selling us something approached, the dogs would begin growling and protecting the "pack". We ended up drinking wine on a rock outcrop overlooking the city. It was a remarkably cool night.

Also, being drunk and named "Patrick" during St. Patty's Day celebrations in Dublin was very, very fun.
