About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn the art of sailing in all its form.

ABOUT ME

What an adventure life can be. I grew up in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, where I began sailing, moved to South Africa aged 14, I worked for my dad in Johannesburg, building low cost housing in Soweto and other townships. After a try at colleg I took to traveling by sea in 2000. I hitched a lift on a Zebra painted sailing boat from Cape Town to Trinidad & Tobago where I worked in a few boat yards before getting a job on a super-yacht to Argentina. Then I joined another Super-Yacht in Fort Lauderdale to sail onto Cuba and Bahamas then on to the Mediterranean. Aftter working in this industry I Lived in Japan for a bit then to Southampton (U.K.) working in the boat yards. It was where I met 'Martella' the Whitbread-Maxi(an 80ft Racing-Yacht). With 2hrs to pack I joined the crew & sailed to Ireland where I still live. On the re-named 'Challenger' we broke the round Ireland speed record and raced in the U.K. Germany and Ireland for a year. Then I moved to Cork and took a job with a boat builder where a dream to start up a sailing school began taking shape. I became a mature student at the Maritime College where I got a Degree in Marine Engineering and did a Cadetship at sea aboard big ships. Once this was completed I proposed to the college to set up a sailing school. As I sit here surrounded by paper work I muse at the fact that we've just celebrated being open 1 year.

PHILOSOPHY

-An object will remain at rest or in conatant motion unless acted upon by an external force.
-For every action there is an equal but opposite force of reaction.
-Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transfered.
This, I think, goes for everything; cars, planes, liquids, solids, waves, music, people, religion, god, the Universe... Did I already say everything?
