ABOUT ME

I am living together with my girlfriend (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/marloesdg/). Where we have a nice house in the center of Tilburg ( central location in the Netherlands).

I am working as a sw engineer and currently involved in the development of medical imaging software that helps docters in diagnosing so they can save more lives. 'Cause I think one always should continue with learnig new stuff, I a currently busy with getting my master's degree and when there is time left try to learn some new languages like e.g. Italian/Spanish.
Next to working I love to travel whenever possible, often in Europe. A lot of beautiful things are so relative close by.

The CS experience was crossing my way when Marloes was 6 months in Rome for volunteering work. She loved CS in Rome very much, so I decided to check if it was also there in our home town. It was quite active for a small city in the Netherlands and the first meetings encouraged me to participate more in it.

When you are in the Netherlands, come and visit us in lovely Tilburg :-) I will be glad to share our couch with you and show you around.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being involved in keeping the CS spirit alive in Tilburg by organizing meetings, events and of course having our couch available.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really enjoy the easy relaxed way of meeting and connecting with new people. When meeting new people at CS the vibes are mostly positive and often it seems if people who just met, seem to know each other for years. Very energizing moments.

Interests

Concerts, music, going out in general. Play also a little bit myself on guitar and piano. I really like to just sit with some people and jam and see what it brings :) I also like to be in nature. Have a drink and nice talk (in the sun) in the city. Next to that like to hang around in the kitchen, helping with the cooking or doing some fresh bread bakery, making cappuccini. After that enjoying the food at dinner with some well tasting wines. If not at home like to go to the movies, going to the city for a talk and a drink or for partying all night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you on several subjects I guess :-) Too name a few ...

- How to bake bread and the famous "brabants worstebrood" based on a recipe of my grand father who was a baker and ran a bakery for almost his entire life
- Making a damn good cappuccino
- Basic guitar & piano skills
- If your interested in software engineering, I can tell you a lot about it from my experiences. I also teach the subject on Fontys University of Applied Sciences. Also any IT related issues I can help you with :)
