About Me

PHILOSOPHY

"If I had two dwarves who followed me about and inquired endlessly into my philosophy, I'd want them to be named Munley and Leffage. And I'd say to them, 'Munley, Leffage, I have no philosophy, or none I'd want anyone else to know about. Why would I want anyone to know my philosophy? I am no Emperor and my life is something which should never be repeated.' "

- Joe Wenderoth, "Letters to Wendys"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I sometimes host on the rare occasion that someone is wanting to stay in Minneapolis. Especially rare in the winter!

I share art and stories and pleasantries with those that I meet.

I refer quality people to this website.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE - It's been a while... These are all pre-2010

Hosted Ronan, an enthusiastic Irishman, who hung out and cooked with me and my roomates and exchanged stories.

In New Orleans while traveling with my girlfriend and goodfriend Sage, we stayed with a French couple Ibrahim et Laurence. They cooked us an excellent meal and we had a fine time conversing and discussing mainstream American culture's weird side. Plus they made us an awesome fort to sleep in!

In New Orleans while traveling with my girlfriend and goodfriend Sage, we stayed with Mark, an enthusiastic host, musican, student, and dude. We swapped gigabytes of music!

In Memphis, while travelling with my girlfriend and good friend Sage, with a guy named Adam and his two roommates. We were well-received and enjoyed fast food and South Park with them.

In Montreal, Quebec. Two friends and I camped in a guy named Phillipe's backyard for a few days, and he showed us some good spots in Montreal, including a few bars and an abandoned trainyard.

In London at a very kind New Zealander named Tony's abode, along with four other couchsurfers. It was a wonderful way to meet other couchsurfers, and Tony was a helluva host.

In Paris, with a Brit named Iain, who told me about his travels through nearly every country in Europe, ate Chinese with me, and took me to hang out with his French girlfriend and their friends where I tried to process speedy Parisien French.

In Paris with Samuel, a kind Frenchman who wandered around with me, and talked about music with me, and listened to music with me.

In Dublin, with a kind girl named Michelle who taught me about the global courier culture. We cooked food, we hung out, watched movies, went to a party, watched a swan attack another swan with a broken wing, exchanged stories. Good times.

In Amsterdam, with Mathieu, who cooked for my friend Jake and I, wandered around with us, showed us to the world's smallest thai restaurant, brought us to a club built out of a church. We exchanged good music and stories. I hope to meet him again.

In Berlin with Heiko, a poet, traveller, intellect, with an intriguing lifestyle and many many stories. We talked for hours, he cooked excellent meals, we explored an abandoned military complex.

In central Berlin with Tobias, with whom I cooked, watched movies and discussed film, and wandered. I learned a good bit about film from him.
