About Me
Hey! I’m Patrick, a 28 year old guy from the Netherlands. I work as a veterinarian in Amsterdam. I’ve traveled in South East Asia for 9 months and South America for 3 months and I am very happy to have discovered Couchsurfing on those trips. I’m always happy to meet new and fellow open-minded people.
Now visiting Spain for two weeks. Looking for beautiful nature and quiet places around the mountains

Music, Movies, and Books
Something of everything really, but I mostly listen to pop and some Latin music and try to watch a Spanish series once in a while to keep practicing my Spanish.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I really liked hitchhiking in Malaysia and hearing the most amazing stories on the road. At the beginning it was a bit scary to get in the car with strangers, but they all turned out to be great people.
In West Papua, meeting forest rangers in Sorong and going on a camping trip with them. We slept on the beach and released baby sea turtles, an unforgettable experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a vet, of course I am very into animals, but I am also fond of nature as a whole. For my studies I focused on the One Health concept, where human, animal, and environmental health are all connected.
During the lockdowns I spent a lot of time learning about plants and biodiversity and tried to make a little oasis of my parents garden. And now, every time I visit them I can’t stop working in their garden.
In high-school I was so bad at languages, but later I noticed they give you the ability to learn so much more about other cultures. So now I try my best to learn a bit of the local language of every place I visit.
