Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently looking to meet new adventurers across Europe while I'm there for the summer. I'll return the favor once I've returned home to the US :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Stayed with a wonderful host in SW Germany, currently looking for more positive experiences and to get more involved in the couchsurfing community!
Interests
I'm an avid runner and enjoy everything from the typical 5k/10k to obstacle course races such as the Spartan Beast or relays like The Relay (therelay.com). I enjoy pretty much all other sports too (especially soccer) as well as hiking in the wilderness - always soothing to escape the hustle and bustle of the city
I love to read and play board games or card games with friends since they're a great way to relax and have fun
Naturally I love traveling and exploring new cities, not only for the sights they offer but also (and more importantly) the people who live there! And I'm a bit of a foodie and I think food is an excellent way to make friends, so I enjoy going out for food or cooking and eating together

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - I love fantasy and nonfiction and comics. A few favorites: Ender's Game, LotR series, Strength in What Remains, Outliers, Calvin and Hobbes :)
Movies - anything that makes me think about what just happened, or Disney movies. i.e. the Prestige, the Illusionist, Wreck-it Ralph, Mr. Bean
Music - classic rock, jazz, pop. the Beatles, Santana, Mumford and Sons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacked the Kalalau Trail (in Kauai), swam with penguins in the Galapagos, hiked on glaciers in New Zealand, white water rafted in North Carolina
Teach, Learn, Share
Academically, I can share what I know about math, logistics, and operations and production management. Beyond that, I'm happy to offer my thoughts on life as a student and traveler from the US.
I believe learning is one of the most important gifts one can receive, so I love learning about anything new. Best are other's stories but I also enjoy hearing about people's interests and passions.
