Hi there,

our names are Petra and Patrick. We've spent the winter 2015/2016 in the French Alps snowboarding and enjoying life and are now are on an adventure across Europe!

Petra: I'm from Germany originally, but I've been travelling for the last 2,5 years. I have lived in England, New Zealand and France.
I'm amazed at how every single person in this world has their own interesting life story and I'm looking forward to hearing more on our adventure through France this summer.

Patrick: I grew up in New Zealand but have lived in many different places including Canada and Australia. I am currently on a 1 year working holiday visa for France, so I am super excited to travel throughout Europe and meet the people that make it such an amazing place. It's important to have a good attitude in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Patrick originally joined couch surfing so he could host travellers whilst living near the great barrier reef in Australia and he had a blast!! Couch surfing is a great way to meet people who are travelling and living life, everyone has a story to tell and is lovely!

Petra joined couch surfing as it is an awesome opportunity to meet new people from all over the world who enjoy travelling as much as she does.

As we are travelling at the moment, we unfortunately can't host anyone ourselves but we're looking forward to staying with fun people and sharing wonderful experiences with our hosts. It's way more fun than staying in hotels and bed and breakfasts.

Interests

We're both very outdoorsy people who love to go for long walks and hikes and who love the ocean (and lakes and rivers if there's no ocean close by).
We both thoroughly enjoy cooking (and eating) food and learning new recipes.

Patrick: I love playing musical instruments and singing. I really enjoy reading, arts&craft and meeting people from all over the world and hearing about different ways of life. I also love the thrill of adventure!

Petra: I love photography and enjoy listening to music and reading. I also like to play the guitar. I'm not very good at it yet, but I'm getting there slowly. I'm addicted to travelling and meeting people from all over the world and hearing about their adventures.

Petra: I like all music, except for maybe techno and hardcore rock.

Patrick: My movie taste is broad.
Always looking for some new ones to add to the list.

Bowie, Beatles, Stones, Wu-tang Clan, Elvis, Ray Lamontagne, Bon Iver, Souls of Mischief, Nas, Arctic Monkeys, Mobb Deep, DJ Shadow, Disclosure, Paper Kites, Fats Waller to name a few and then any new up and comer I stumble across.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Petra: After finishing school, I packed my bags and went on a rather spontaneous 3 months holiday to the other side of the world. I was on my own and had no idea what to expect. It changed my life and perspectives completely and made me the person I am today.

Patrick: I lived in a van with 5 people and we travelled 16,000km in just over one month across Canada during the fall. It changed my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

We like to meet lots of people. When you travel you lower your barriers because you are away from home, and for this reason the people you meet can really influence you.

We're looking forward to hearing about your adventure, learn some of your recipes, your language, culture and way of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share my cooking skills, a warm smile and a great conversation.
We can share stories of many places from all over the world (Australasia, Europe, America&Canada). We can tell you some great places to see if you visit these places.

Patricks is also a handyman and can help with odd jobs around the house if necessary :)
