About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to explore the world. Not just see it, but be part of it. I want to immerse myself in cultures, dive into nature, and speak with all the peoples of the world in their native tongue.
ABOUT ME
I am a science geek, a writer, and a people person. I get along with almost everyone, I love keeping up with the latest in science and technology, and I write everything from poems to novels about all sorts of topics. I am currently a full-time college student and I now have a full-time job and am using it to save money for my trip to Europe for the 2015 summer.
PHILOSOPHY
Never let your stuff get in the way of your story.
Cause no harm, do what you want.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once toured the entire main island of Hawaii in a day. For twenty-four hours, I saw the lands of the continents wave by me like water. I saw the mouth of an active volcano through the night's mist. I saw lava pour from cliffs into the ocean, creating entire clouds in the matter of moments, so fast and continuous it was as if that a steam engine was pushing the entire island. For twenty-four hours I experienced my life's dream: to explore the world. I was in Hawaii for fourteen days, but that one day reminded me of why I am in college, why I work hard to earn money, and why I am still alive. I want to see the world, and all of it's glory. I already began with Hawaii and now, I'm not ever stopping.
Teach, Learn, Share
Five things I have so far learned in my travels, that should help you as well.
1.) DO. NOT. EVER. JUDGE. Do not ever judge someone else's way of life. Throughout my travels I have watched so many vacationers use words like "barbaric", "ridiculous", "childish", and "wrong", when they see new places and people. Not only is it rude to think yourself better than someone else, it's also wrong. No one way of life is superior to any other, and if you think you live the 'superior" way of life, then you are a fool.
2.) ENGAGE. Try everything! Everywhere I go, I get offered something to try. Whether it's local food, hiking into a lava tube, or something else, I try it! It's not only good manners, but every new thing you try increases your awesome levels dramatically. Don't be the one that drags everyone down by not doing anything, be the one that lifts everyone else up by doing EVERYTHING!
3.) DON'T COMPLAIN. Is the place your staying not next to the beach like you had hoped? Is the food not like what you're used to? Is the local transportation not to your liking? Well, I have some advice that should help you tremendously: Shut Up. No one cares if some little thing is wrong with your vacation or trip. Some things we can't plan for, some things happen that we can't control. You complaining about them won't make them better, it'll just make your trip worse. For everyone, not just yourself. Just take a deep breath, relax, and soak up the fact that you're adventuring!
4.) RELAX. Do you have an itinerary for your trip? Some sort of plan that works out every minute of every day that you're away? THROW IT AWAY!!! Itineraries are horrible for travel and they are anti-relaxing. When you have an itinerary, any little unexpected thing (and they happen quite often) will throw your plans off and make you stress out. I can't count how many times my parents stressed out when we didn't stick to the plan during family trips. It wasn't until I visited Hawaii with my uncle and aunt that I realized how stressful an itinerary is. My aunt and uncle had no plans. I was there for two weeks, and they had a total of 4 things they wanted to bring me to for the whole trip. Having a relaxed schedule allows you to soak up the life and culture around you. So burn that itinerary, dance in its ashes, and relax!
5.) STOP. Stop taking photos of everything. Stop taking videos of every bird, ocean wave, and kid on a bike. Stop writing down everything you're seeing, doing, or feeling. Stop walking so quickly. Just stop, and think. Take photos of the things that matter, not every plant and hill you see. Take videos of you and the people you're with, don't waste time taking videos of the ocean, or of a bird, or monkey, or tree. Stop making journal entries for everything you're doing throughout the days. Stop walking so fast to get from one activity to another. Slow down, and absorb the one thing you came here for: life! We travel because we want to live, because we want to create unforgettable memories that we can tell as stories to others, so that we can encourage them to embrace life as well. If you waste your vacation or trip taking pictures and videos and writing about everything you see, you're not going to make memories. All you will be left with when you get home is a work log, a bunch of pixels on a screen, and a lifetime of regret.
