About Me

CURRENT MISSION

More live music, more salsa dancing, more Yoga :)

ABOUT ME

My parents are from Thailand and Germany and my grandparents and great-grandparents come from Chile, Cambodia and other countries.
So hospitality and Couchsurfing is somewhat in my blood I think. Helping and hosting strangers is one of the most beautiful gifts in life. Anytime I meet people from Hospitalityclub or Couchsurfing it's like knowing that the world actually is a good place.
Please feel free to contact me, if you need a place in my town. I will try my best to help you out - maybe simply because I would like to return the gift of hospitality I have received so often.

PHILOSOPHY

Many people say one should live as if every day was the last. My personal philosophy is different, it's more of a mind trick: Imagine you were 90 years old and for some reason you are, right now, back in time and young again - what would you do?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My key experience is that when you are hosted by someone you stop being a tourist - you become a guest. What a wonderful way to travel the world!

Interests

Saxophone, Skiing, Surfing, Sunsets, eating, sleeping, laughing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning how to drive a car (in Paris), surviving five years at a Jesuit Boarding School, falling asleep on a cemetery after the gym, graduating from University, riding a scooter in Rome, breaking into the Circo Massimo at midnight with friends, snorkeling in Thailand when the water was still clean, getting a Kiss from Milla Jovovich, oversleeping a fire-alarm, eating salmon in Latvia, standing up accidently in the middle of a ceremony and having to leave in front of 300 people, falling in love, studying Italian literature, surviving the military service, winning an award from the UNESCO, loosing all important documents and finding them again after reconstructing everything I did a week ago, learning Swedish, sitting at the edge of the Grand Canyon, having a spontaneous sticker-art sightseeing trip through Milan, borrowing a convertible from a friend and returning it in pieces, writing for 15 hours a letter to a seriously sick friend who never takes advice, swimming into the open sea and returning after an hour, listening a day to people without saying "but", "no" and "I know", bungee-jumping over a lake, skiing in the Dolomites in Italy, taking a train to Chiang Mai, shooting a Movie with Harvey Keitel, getting completely lost in the mountains at night with someone I just met, taking a picture of a house for a 84 year old lady I never met and who left her home in Germany in the 50s now wondering what it might look like back home and sending her the pictures to NYC, talking to a Nobel Prize Laureate, going to New York and the Metropolian Opera without having neither a ticket nor a place to stay - and so far everything worked out amazingly fine...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I used to work as a personal trainer during university so I can show you all the things you better not do in a gym ;-) Learn: I would like to learn how to sing. Share: Joy! It's the best thing to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friend Tom and I just started to rent a pretty amazing place in Split, Croatia. It's really too big, so we immediately agreed to have Couchsurfers :) When you walk down the street you will arrive at the private Yacht harbour and in 5 minutes you are at the beach. Croatia is beautiful and needs to be shared!
We can also share some thoughts on Entrepreneurship as we are currently building www.thepopstick.com. Croatia is a great location to shoot promotion videos so we do a lot of fun activities and we always have a bunch of friends joining us so you are invited as well.
