During one of my small trips around Iceland, in a completely random café, I started chatting with a lovely Spanish woman in her early 60s. When she was leaving, she gently grabbed my arm and said:
“Remember, my child — the most beautiful and interesting book is your passport.”

My passport doesn’t have many stamps yet, and I’m currently living my first adventure outside Europe — backpacking through Asia. But let’s start from the beginning…

My name is Patrycja. I was born and raised in Poland — a beautiful country rich in culture. Even though my family and friends are there, I’ve always felt a strong desire to travel and discover the unknown. I’m a journalist by education, a marketer by passion and experience, and an amateur writer and photographer.

My journey into a more nomadic life began three years ago, when I packed a 20-kg suitcase and moved to Lisbon, where I lived for two years. My heart still belongs to Portugal — a country I explored from north to south. After many reflections, I packed my suitcase once again and spent over six months working in Iceland.
My list of places I’d love to see is very long. I’ve always been fascinated by Asia and Latin America, which I plan to explore next year. While traveling, I value meeting people and listening to their stories — they’re my biggest inspiration for writing. I love cooking and discovering new flavors and scents. Extreme conditions don’t scare me, and as a numerological number 5, I adapt quickly to new environments (yes, I’m into astrology and numerology).

I see Couchsurfing as much more than just a place to sleep — for me it’s about connection, shared moments and good conversations. I’m always happy to exchange stories, cook a meal together, explore the city or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and talk about life.
I’m respectful, open-minded and easygoing, and I treat every place I stay as if it were my own home. If you enjoy meeting curious souls, sharing experiences and a bit of everyday life — I’d be happy to cross paths with you somewhere on the road.
