Hi! I'm Patrycja (Pata) and I'm 27 years old. For last 7 year, I lived in Kraków and studied at technical university and worked in Institute of Nuclear Physics as an engineer.

Since February, for 3 months, I was in the Netherlands. My fiancée and I worked there and earned some money for our dream - traveling around the world. We lived in Heerlen near Maastricht that time.

After that, we started our trip. We hitchhiked whole the way from the Netherlands to Georgia (except Germany, because we used a 9 euro ticket that time). We traveled around 1 month through Europe, spent 2 months traveling around Turkiye and then explored Georgia for 5 weeks. Our goal of this dream was making a trip literally around the Earth, everything by land or water. Unfortunately, due to the war in Ukraine, protests in Iran and closed borders of some Asian countries, we decided to go directly to South Korea by plane. We travelled there for 3 weeks. Then we spent 4 weeks in Japan, we even went to Okinawa island. Next 2 weeks we were in Taiwan and Vietnam and now finally we are in Australia.

I will briefly say something about me :)
I am flexitarian (trying to be vegetarian but during trip it's a bit difficult sometimes). I try to limit the all meat in my diet, but I don't mind if you eat it.

Before our trip, my fiancée and I were travelling a lot. We did two hitchhiking trips around Europe, sleeping in the tent, on the couchsurfing or in our friend's flats. Also, we were on a bike trip in Poland, doing 500 km in 10 days.
I think thanks to my fiancee I l look for some adventures, want to try new things and would like to meet new people :)

I love sport and everything which is connected with it. No matters what sport it is, I can watch matches and tournaments all the time. Also, I love activities, like hiking, cycling, playing some team sports. That's why I am in a quadball team from Kraków. Also, I trained the athletes, especially short distances (100m, 200m).

Last but not least - I play violin, piano and guitar a little bit. I finished 11 years of school music and I just try playing some popular stuff.
I also like watching tv series and some movies :)

By the way, I am vaccinated, and I've got the EU Digital Covid Certificate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it is one of the best way to learn a lot about other cultures, ppl's habits. That's why I like hitchhiking. You won't be that close to local ppl when you are in hostel or going anywhere by public transport.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - thanks to my music school I love listening to classical music just for a relax. Besides, I like and really appreciate less popular kinds of music like indie pop, rock or folk (for example: Bon Iver, Tom Odell, George Ezra, Birds, Fismoll).
I'd rather watch TV shows than movies. I really like Stranger Things, Dark, Game of Thrones, the Crown,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We spent a night in the tent with a newly known cat. I miss him very much.
