About Me

100% Pisces, bar-fly and a crazy cat lady without a cat.
I love karaoke as much as I like saving money, but I'm not stingy for my friends.
I love being around people, I'm kind, tolerant and open-minded, but when people throw trash on the grass under my watch or I miss my bus - I get very agressive.

Since 2019 I've been working in an office and teaching Chinese to beginners of all ages: kids, adults and even seniors. I enjoy being in contact with people, organising events and preparing materials. Because of the pandemic I had to re-teach myself how to use the computer and I must admit - nailed it ;D

I've been living in Poland all my life, but in 2017 I got a scholarship to study in Taiwan for 6 months. While staying there, I've met so many amazing people of all ages and nationalities, made friends with them and instantly felt like it was my second home. After that me and my boyfriend Krzysztof we made a small trip to some countries in Asia and we definitely want to go back there soon. Another part of the world I can call my favourite one are the Balkans and we often revisit those countries we've been to before, just like we do with ordering favourite dishes in a bar - we just can't resist it, even though we also want to try out sth new...
The best hitch-hiking experience we've got so far was in Armenia, though!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
I love drama movies, psychological thrillers, crime stories, classic Hollywood, documentaries, really good or really absurd comedies, horrors

Directors: David Lynch, Tarantino, Almodovar, Xavier Dolan, Jia Zhangke, Lars von Trier and so on...

Favourite movies: Pulp Fiction, Lost Highway, The Game, Circle, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Silence of the Lambs, Nymphomaniac Part One, Buffalo '66, Chungking Express... and many more

Favourite tv-series: Twin Peaks, Sex and the City, Lost, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Black Mirror, The Killing, The Fall, Halt and Catch Fire, Hannibal, Cold Case, Monk, Prison Break, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Dexter, RuPaul's Drag Race

Music:
I love many genres and I find sth new and different every now and then, but I mostly listen to "grunge" and "riot grrrl" type of music. 90s/2000s pop, r&b and soul music and vaporwave are my guilty pleasures. Recently into house music and Azealia Banks.
I enjoy music that I can dance or chill out to, that has a specific mood and feeling (post-punk, no-wave), movie soundtracks, world music (Ethiopiques, Cambodian music), jazz, experimental and "alternative" music - anything I find interesting or inspiring.

My favourites:
vocally: Sade, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Brandy
musically: Mac DeMarco, Soundgarden, Souxsie and the Banshees, Pixies, Hole, Babes in Toyland, L7, Priests, Bikini Kill, Sonic Youth, Tool, A Place To Bury Strangers, Igorrr, Mr. Bungle, The Abominable Iron Sloth,
electronic: Dee-lite, La Femme, Boy Harsher, Soft Moon,
Dengue Fever, Faye Wong, Xiao He,
soundtracks from "Lost Highway" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona"

Books:
I mostly read documentary books (especially about China, for example by Liao Yiwu), world and Polish "classics", psychological dramas, thrillers (like Harlan Coben's books), Japanese novels (one of my fav: "Coinlocker Babies")

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you information about Kraków and Poland in general (not much historical knowledge in my head but I'm an excellent human version of Yelp, as my friend once said to me, so you can totally count on me when it comes to tips and recommendations). I can cook something, make a cocktail, make a lucky Chinese knot or a bracelet, teach you Polish or a bit of Chinese, sing you a song or give you an honest critique about sth. And I can tell you A LOT about working in a party hostel and partying in Poland

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always eager to help with anything :)
