About Me

I'm a software engineer from Germany. I'm a very chill and open minded guy and it is no stress to get along with me. I like to meet new people and make friends. I enjoy climbing very much though I am still kind of a beginner.

I know I did not host anyone yet here on couchsurfing which would probably make it a little harder for me to find a host. Though I have been doing something quite similar. I've been hosting various foreign students for a couple weeks of summer school or semesters abroad. Living together with people of different culture is not something new to me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet awesome people, show the nice parts of my city and get to know the locals of where I'm visiting. To see how the world lives and share some fun moments about realizations of differences in all our cultures but also to always recognise how we all really are the same.

In the core the reason is probably to get to know the world, to see how the world works and understand that it is an amazingly beautiful place and that everything really is not as complicated as it sometimes seems.

Interests

Recently I discovered climbing. Here in Germany I am living really close to a bouldering gym which I am visiting multiple days a week. It's fuckin great. Right now I am learning to do the real thing and go climbing outdoors with a rope and all that stuff.

Since I am a compuer scientist, which I am really passionate about, I also enjoy programming. That doesn't mean I am the stereotypical computer nerd but for sure some of the things people say about us are true. I will probably always have my laptop around and when there is some spare I time I will do weird things that no one really understands.

When I'm bored I do some juggling. I also take some of my toys about everywhere I go. I am not a professional, I just like to ease my mind a bit by concentrating on the balls or the flow of my sticks. I can show you some stuff if you want or teach you a little. Maybe you could even teach me some new skills?

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy a lot of music. I am not a fan of genres I just listen to whatever makes me feel good or chills me down. Currently I am a big fan of my Spotify Mix of the week. Artists that I listen to change a lot and some of their names I do not even know since Spotify is just playing them for me. Some all time classics would be Tame Impala and Manu Chao.

Here is a choice of movies I like: 2001 A Space Odyssey, Inception, Interstellar, Pulp Fiction, Memento

When it comes to reading unfortunately I must pass. There is a long list of books that I would really like to read but I think my attention span is too short to read books properly. When I was a kid I really enjoyed reading but now when I open a book I get tired very fast. I do enjoy listening to podcasts or a audio book while sitting in a long train ride though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been travelling through Australia by myself. While being there I met a lot of cool people and made great friends. This trip I did got me kinda hooked on travelling and now I get this itchy feeling if I am staying at the same place for too long which is telling me to go and explore something new.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach german, some programming skills or basic computer stuff. Also if you'd like I can teach you some juggling as I got some balls as well as flower sticks on me right now.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am working with computers, so if your printer doesn't work or your phone hangs: I know it all! - No, but seriously I might be able to help you with some of those problems if you'd have any.

For sure I would share some time with you talking about what moves us and share some stories with you. I am not a crazy awesome cook, maybe only kinda average, but still if anyone is hungry I can probably get a decent curry done ;)
