ABOUT ME

Growing up, my animals were my best friends.
Cheerleader by default(I was shy & tried out with my girlfriend).
Rodeo Queen with my Arabian horse(in a Quarter horse world)
Homeschooled our 4 daughters,(remember: my husband & I are public ed teachers:) until they entered colleges. Taught decision making & kept their love for learning while we skied and snowboarded 4 days a week:)
Past ski instructor.
ESL teacher with Japanese students for 15 years.
State of OR Achievement Test Administer.

HUSBAND information: Retired high school art teacher, professional photographer, potter, sculptor, lover of me(Patty). Maker of wooden native American flutes & wine bottle stoppers, loves listening to people's stories,swimming,snorkeling,Hawaii, he LOVES everything! oh yes collector of everything, ARTIST!
2020 Stu is dealing with health issues-but still will be a great host:)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We host family, friends & friends- on a weekly basis, even though we live out in the country- (some say in the sticks:) Just hosted our 18th wedding-only friends. This one was a seize the moment wedding-absolutely beautiful!).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

2010 UK/Ireland for a month-our FIRST couchsurfing AMAZING experiences! I am SOLD!!!! DO IT!!!!
We live hosting in our home.
Lived 2 years with another family, as community.

Interests

I mainly spend my time preparing for the next gathering in my home that we built, debt free, with my artist hubby.
Free range chickens.
2019 pony Dotty(7 years old) was added to our family, she had a colt 2020 Sonny!
Two outdoor cats.
EVERYTHING in life is an interest!

My husband and I are reading Donald Miller's (local Portland, OR author) books to each other. FUN!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with dolphins and a manta ray in the wild.
Raised 4 amazing daughters & now inputting into their children
Love being Oma(grandma) to my now 9 grandBOYS & 1 grandDAUGHTER/our 10th grandchild!!!.
