ABOUT ME

We like hosting friends and showing them around our city., cooking, being outdoors. We have a lot of friends that visit and frequently travel, so we are not always available to host - but send us a message and maybe our times will match up!

We lived in Paris for a few years, had an idea to connect our love for food and connecting friends and started a picnic delivery company. We've recently moved over to Singapore for a new project.

Katya was born in Moscow, and grew up in Maryland, USA (close to Washington, DC). Patrick was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, but grew up in South Dakota. We met working at a consulting firm in DC, got married in Iceland, and moved to Paris.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hosted some people in our apartment in Washington, DC and met up with some surfers on Shanghai. Due to the constant visits from friends and family, we have not had much free time (or space) to host surfers in Paris. Just moved to Singapore and have been traveling most of the time since relocating!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted a few people and have had a nice experience. We have many friends that are avid surfers and have a lot of fun and interesting stories from them - including friends staying with scuba instructors, going out for karaoke in mountain towns, and staying with people who own a pineapple farm. We look forward to our own new friends through CouchSurfing!

Katya: Making collages, badminton. When she gets to it, she also like belly dance, yoga, the hula hoop and wrapping presents.
Patrick: music, wine, picnics, running and reading. A lot.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

We listen to all types of music (genres, languages). Always a fan of electro and electronic music, especially anything that comes from Berlin! Also enjoy international folk music and anything that includes a violin or accordion, especially gypsy music from Eastern Europe.

Both like to read, in no particular order we like...
Patrick - In the First Circle by Solzhenitsyn, David Foster Wallace, Vonnegut, various non-fiction about history, politics, agriculture.
Katya - Brave New World by A. Huxley, Wild Swans by J. Chang, Gweilo by M. Booth, non-fiction about how people and the universe works.

We both like non-fiction, such as Josh Foer's Moon Walking with Einstein - and other books that are relevant and/or when we can learn something. We read quite a few novels as well..
