ABOUT ME

I like to think that I am a nice person, who tries to enjoy life to it's fullest.
There are two of us - me and Jānis - but it's mostly me, who "operates" this account.
Jānis is a freelance designer/cartographer and Ieva (or Eve) is a cartographer/GIS specialist.
We are also self proclaimed beer enthusiasts and enjoy tasting different craft beers and learn more about the processing of beer. We like dry humour and laugh at ourselves. We don't take life too seriously, but enjoy talking and having discussions about serious topics like time travel, space exploration, physics, history, different cultures and everything else that comes to mind.

To spare awkward situation when you send me a request spelling my name wrong, I would like to point out that my name is Ieva, not Leva. With a capital "i". Thanks.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I can afford a hotel, I am not after a free nights stay. Rather after a local experience, local knowledge and making new friends! You know - the actual essence and the original idea of couchsurfing! I've met amazing people and made good friends, thanks to this site.

Couchsurfing is NOT a dating site and is NOT a place to look for free accommodation! Therefore, I prefer hosting those, who plan on staying at least two nights, so we can actually get to know each other and get a chance to introduce you to my beautiful city.

兴趣

I love cooking, but I'm very picky on my food. Having great time. Always learning new things. Making maps. Observing lizards. Occasionally having a good beer and watching ice-hockey. Photography. And of course seeing the world. You know, the regular stuff. Something like that.

I enjoy all kinds of music, mostly rock related. I love post-rock and prog-rock. Sometimes throw some jazzrap, electronica and reggae in the mix.
My all time favorite movies are 12 Angry Men, Hot Fuzz, The Usual Suspects, District 9, The Shawshank Redemption and many others.
My favorite books are adventure genre. I loved books by Gerald Durrell, Thor Heyerdahl, Roald Amundsen.
