My name is Paul and I'm a straight, very spontaneous American guy from New York City that loves to take random trips & meet interesting people all around the world. Currently working and living in Rome Italy . Being new and first time in Europe that gives the chance to be closed to other European Countries easy traveling around, I'm opened my mind to the world and how amazingly different it is out there of people countries & cultures and I absolutely cannot wait to explore more of it. I'm always up for a good time and love discovering new people, places, and other things of course

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I learned to play the drum & guitar when I was in Madagascar. I took a few classes, and decided I needed a drum & guitar of my own. I asked a friend and he took me on a long and winding trek through the back streets of Tana to find the drum & guitar maker. We chatted for a bit, and he asked me about sound, and skins, and carvings. I came back a few weeks later to pick up my drum & guitar together the same day , and it was beautiful. I shook his hand and noticed he had 6 fingers, two thumbs. I still cherish and play my drum & guitar made by the 6-fingered man.If you stay with us, I'll tell you the story about the time I accidentally got thrown out of a Tijuana whorehouse...
Teach, Learn, Share
People's definitions of distance and time, can be hugely different from yours. When I was in Mexico last year, i decided to visit a freshwater lagoon "just down the road." I asked the woman that had rented me the bungalow on the beach that we were staying in, and she said it was just 15 minutes down the road if i wanted to walk... I convinced myself that this would be a good idea.
I walked 15 minutes down the road and were out of town. 15 minutes more and I was on a lonely road winding through the hills. I stopped and asked some construction workers if I was headed the right direction and continued on. 15 more minutes and a truck full of armed Federales rolled by (i found out later there was a fair amount of fighting in the area). 15 minutes after and i turned down the dirt path to the lagoon.
It was a lovely spot, and was worth the walk - but a taxi might have been easier and safer (particularly when i learned that there were no taxis back into town).
The moral of the story ... maps are your friend.!
