Hello world!
First: no worries, you don't need to read my profile to send me an accomodation request :) There will not be any hidden password below... No worries as well if it's a copy/past request (I know that sometimes the ratio of positive replies is veeeery low), as long as it's genuine I'm glad to receive it and willing to help :)
What follows is only a shy tentative to say who I might be, for the one that are curious to know before meeting me in person.
Sooo, I'm Paul, I traveled quite a lot in the last year, met a lot of persons, learnt two languages, and I'm glad I did so!
Traveling is such an opportunity, you see life in such a distinct way, everything is more colourful, has a different taste, you have so much energy: you strongly live...
I'm as well interested by a lot of different things than traveling: science, politics, juggling, playing games (I'm quite competitive, be aware of that before coming :p), running, mountains (and hiking), learning new languages (and new things in general - I like Einstein's phrase "when you stop learning you start dying"), thinking about making things better, meeting new persons, etc
I feel I said quite a lot already, I shall add some new things later but for today it's fine!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started using it when I was traveling and now I feel it's my duty to give back to the community (and to be fair I really liked hosting you :D)
As well I realized that hosting people through CS made me more generous and I'm glad about that :) (one could think that it goes the other way around ahah)
Music, Movies, and Books
Let's talk about that in person
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When, by chance, I hosted a traveller that was a friend of a friend, what she was doing was so amazing and crazy for me, so inspiring, that I decided to go alone for a long trip to South America...
Quand j'ai hébergé par hasard une voyageuse et que c'était tellement incroyable pour moi ce qu'elle faisait que je suis parti tout seul pour l'Amérique du sud pour 6 mois
Teach, Learn, Share
Learning: the utter fact of chatting with you may teach me a lot
Sharing: in France sharing a meal is the basis of conviviality, but what matters the most is sharing a moment :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
So... I've been hosted by and I personally hosted several persons. That made me think quite a lot about how I feel an host should behave.
So what I want to tell you beforehand:
I don't expect anything from you!
That means, if you want to be alone, you basically can (I'm mostly on CS to meet new people BUT I do think that meeting people properly implies leaving them the freedom to want or not to want meeting you!), as well please feel free to spend as long as you want in the city (outside of technical problems about coming back late you do whatever you want!!), please feel free to be yourself...
Another thing: if you happen to bring sheets, that would be amazing (it's absolutely not a condition but it does help)
